From a young age, Samantha Meron knew her purpose was to help those in need. At sixteen, she survived a serious car accident that transformed her life. This pivotal moment revealed the barriers many people face when seeking justice, inspiring her to pursue law. That experience gave her clarity: she would become an attorney to support people who couldn’t fight for themselves.
Today, she serves as an Immigration Attorney at Quiroga Law Office, PLLC, leading the removal defense unit. Samantha stands for immigrants seeking safety and stability in the United States. Her resilience, dedication, and passion make her a trusted immigration attorney in the firm and the community.As a second-generation American, Samantha has a personal understanding of how immigration transforms lives. Her family emigrated from Terceira, Portugal, overcoming immense challenges to build a better future. This background shaped her belief that immigration strengthens individuals and entire communities.
For her, each case is about preserving family unity and dignity, values her own family fought to protect. Watching her family succeed in the US motivated her. She decided to focus her legal career on helping others achieve success too. Samantha views immigration law as more than a job. It is a personal mission to honor her roots and help future generations of immigrants.Samantha’s path toward law began with a firm foundation in academics and public service. In 2017, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno. The Dean’s Honor List recognized her.
While studying, she interned at the Washoe County Public Defender’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office. This gave her experience with both sides of the justice system. She actively participated in Phi Alpha Delta, the world’s largest law fraternity, and the Wildlife Society Student Chapter. These experiences reinforced her desire to fight for justice and use the law to protect vulnerable communities.Samantha wanted to learn more, so she studied for her Juris Doctor at Lewis & Clark School of Law. She graduated in 2020 in Portland, Oregon. She earned the Dean’s Scholarship for Excellence for her outstanding academic performance.
Her law school years were full of practical experience. She joined the Minority Law Student Association.
She also helped the Constitutional Law Society. Additionally, she worked as a research assistant. Her job involved translating Portuguese laws about environmental crime.
She taught high school students about criminal law through the Street Law Student Teacher program. She also volunteered for “Citizenship Day” with IRCO. These efforts showcased her ability to lead and serve.In Spring 2022, Samantha started working at Quiroga Law Office, PLLC. She is an immigration attorney in Las Vegas, a top immigration law firm in Nevada. She quickly became an important part of the removal defense team. Her work focuses on deportation and asylum cases, ensuring every client receives dedicated and compassionate legal representation.
For Samantha, being an immigration attorney means more than just law. The focus is on protecting human dignity and giving people a chance for a new life. She works tirelessly to guide clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, providing support, clarity, and strength. Her sense of justice and empathy make her a fierce advocate for those seeking safety in the United States.Samantha has achieved prestigious accomplishments in her legal career. In 2016, she got a Certificate of Appreciation from the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office. This was for her great work as an intern. More recently, she achieved a major milestone by arguing before federal appellate courts, a distinction few attorneys attain.
In 2023, she argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in 2024, before the Eighth Circuit. These cases go beyond individual outcomes—they have the potential to shape legal precedent. Samantha sees these opportunities as a privilege and a duty. She uses them to promote justice for immigrants in the country.Samantha’s impact reaches far beyond the courtroom. She is fluent in Portuguese, allowing her to better serve Portuguese-speaking clients and build deeper connections. Outside work, she enjoys traveling, painting, reading, and spending time with animals.
Her love for community and justice is evident in everything she does. Reflecting on her own family’s immigration journey fuels her motivation. “If my grandparents had not moved here, my mother would not have been born in the US, and I would not have had the chance to become a lawyer.” Her commitment to immigrants is both professional and profoundly personal.With resilience, compassion, and commitment, Samantha Meron continues to fight for immigrant rights every day.
